Great Lakes Farms Orchard School Tours 2008 Season

Available weekdays from September 15 – October 31, 2008 for morning or afternoon tours -recommended for children from preschool to Grade 6.

ADMISSION
Each tour is $ 5.00 per person (includes taxes). We allow one adult admission free with every 5 students; any extra adults will be charged the regular admission fee. Payment is due at the time of the tour. Activities last approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours rain or shine. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled tour.

TOUR DETAILS
Apple Tour
Each teacher will receive a bag of apples for the class. Every child will receive an apple and an activity sheet.
Pumpkin Tour
The class receives a jack-o-lantern to take back to school.
Each child gets a mini pumpkin and an activity sheet.

Activities (depend on tour selected):
Tractor drawn wagon rides through the farm
Learn how to pick your own apple
Learn stages of pumpkin from seed to market
Scavenger hunt to find the apple variety in season
Educational learning on apples or pumpkins connected to Ontario Curriculum (specific to grade level)
Farm history and equipment use
Sample different apple varieties and delicious apple cider
Get lost in our corn maze

Students are to remain under the supervision of teachers and adults at all times, dress warmly, and wear rubber boots.
